Things like car hire or, even more serious, hotel reservation matters. One beautiful day I got stuck at a resort for the night, with two huge suitcases, having nowhere to sleep, just due to the fact I didn't take care of all the things in advance. Of course, I slept all next day long, having found a room at one of the hotels, but the room wasn't the best one, the price wasn't right, and losing one day is o'kay, but not when you are at vacation and only have about ten days to spend.

So, I strongly recommend that you should be smarter than I was in those days, and take care of everything in advance. Purchase  one of package holidays.
